New Property Investment Project Business Cards
23 Sep 2009Right, so here are the facts…
- My blog is growing on a daily basis (I think)
- I get various property-related companies and professionals emailing me all kinds of shit on a daily basis
- I don’t run my blog as a “business” per’se, but some people tell me I probably should
- I sometimes (rarely) attend networking events
- I’m not professional at all
Earlier today I spoke to someone that knew all of the above, consequently, she told me I needed business cards, and without them, I was virtually a short, fat, balding leper. She started off by telling me why business cards are important (I also wondered if she had a life). During the explanation, I heard keywords being muttered, like, “professional”, “branding” and “networking” She then explained what should and shouldn’t be on business cards. I was planning on putting a picture of my hairy arse on my one. But thankfully this person intervened and explained why that wouldn’t be a good idea. Close call.
While I was sitting there, half concentrating on what was being said, and half concentrating on flicking the dry-cum off the tip of my penis (residue from the previous night), I was thinking, “I run a shitty little blog, not Ebay. This is ridiculous. Actually, scratch that, you’re ridiculous.”
Eventually, I caved in and agreed to create my own business cards (probably just to shut her up).
What impact has business cards had on my life/blog/business? Well, now, for once, when I attend networking events, I can “exchange” business cards with the elite. I definitely feel more professional.
I’ve currently only drawn up 6 cards in total, but I plan on drawing out 6 per day for the next 30 days. That supply should keep me going. I’ll probably be selective to who I dish them out to (only important people), because I don’t want to keep drawing up new ones. Here is a picture of my new business card (I hope the person that lectured me earlier is happy now)….

On a serious note, that REALLY is my new Property Investment Project business card. Hopefully I’ll exchange one with you some day soon…
The Landlord says:
I’m actually going to hand them out!
Friend says:
yep they are wonderful, v professional
Friend says:
but you do understand ppl are going to laugh at you.
The Landlord says:
No. They laughed when I didn’t have a card. They will take me seriously now.

But I must confess, i'm like a proud father- the birth of my cards are nothing but spectacular. Sure it may not be as fancy as the pile you collected from 100% design, but mine are wholesome and from the heart.

I initially started this website because I wanted to document my every step from property idiot to property landlord,
in hope that people would find my site and help me along the way. I literally didn't have a clue about being a landlord
when I started this website.
