Is This Online Letting Agent Advert Distasteful?

Written by on 31 May 2010

A few weeks ago my radar picked up a Tweet from @ffields regarding the marketing methods of a new Online Letting Agent, PropertyMatch.com. The Tweeter muttered the following:

@ffields Distasteful ad as seen in Landlord and Buy-to-let magazine, death always sells? [link to advert]

Here’s the advert from Letting Match:
Letting Match Advert

Is it distasteful? What do you think?

I’m assuming the alleged distasteful part is using the concept of “death” as a positive notion. I suppose Letting Match could have pushed the bounderies even further by showing punters celebrating…

Letting Match Advert Celebrating

Personally, I don’t really think the advert is distasteful, but then again, apparently I’m an insensitive, childish shitbag that still finds it amusing when someone says “pull my finger” and then passes wind. On the other hand, I don’t think the advert is particularly amusing either (I’m assuming it’s meant to be), not because it’s offensive, but because, well, it’s just not funny.

Apart from that - completely ok.

PS: Got any piccies of you larging it in Vegas? My trip is booked - 8 weeks and counting!!! 1
