I Am NOT Sarah Beeny

I think there has been some confusion. Just to clarify once more, I am not Sarah Beeny (although I wouldn’t mind if I was). Sarah Beeny has nothing to do with this website, I’m just an admirer of her work, hence the Sarah Beeny Articles.

A few weeks ago I received an email, from someone who shall remain anonymous. Here’s a small portion of the email:

“Hi Sarah
I do publicity for a second home development in Gloucestershire, Lower Mill Estate. I am trying to find a writer to commission to explain to the lay-man the tax and financial advantages of owning a second home if done correctly.

I am looking for about 350 words with no technical jargon to explain the differences to capital gains taxes if the property is let over a certain number of days etc. Also what expenses you can offset against income tax etc.”

At first I was wondering, “why the hell is this person calling me Sarah, was it just a typing mistake?” As brain-dead as I am, I just assumed exactly that, that the author mistyped Sarah’s name (maybe the author has a daughter named Sarah, so had “Sarah” on her mind). I got all flattered and thought, “wow, that’s pretty cool, someone is asking for my input”

As I was responding to the email, feeling all important and stuff; it clicked, I realised the author of that email must have landed on one of my Sarah Beeny pages and assumed she had something to do with this site. Having said that, there has NEVER been any indication of Sarah Beeny being linked to this website other than her being a victim of my stalkerish antics. When I realised what had happened, I snapped back into reality and realised my knowledge is yet to be sought after, oh what a Property Fool I am. How sad. Anyways, I just stopped writing the email, closed outlook express and carried on with my day. I didn’t even explain to the author what i thought had happened. If you’re reading this now, you can email me again apologising for the misunderstanding. Only joking. Kind of

In conclusion, I wish I was Sarah Beeny, but I’m not. I don’t think this case of mistaken identity has been made by many people, actually I think it was just that ONE individual, but I thought I would just set the record straight.

Of course, I’m still clinging onto the hope that “Sarah” was just a mistake, and the author did actually want MY input (the person who ISN’T Sarah Beeny). Yes, I’m one of those, a hopeless dreamer.

Did anyone else think Sarah Beeny authored this site? If so, you must be feeling pretty disappointed right now, aye? I’m not as property experienced, pretty, rich, or big breasted.
