How Landlords Can Advertise And Find Tenants On Popular Websites Like Rightmove
07 Sep 2009I recently compiled a list of A List Of Free Websites Where Landlords Can Advertise Their BTL. While that list is a super awesome resource for all landlands trying to find tenants for free, there is one fundamental problem with the websites on that list. The websites don’t actually generate as much traffic as the dominating UK property portals on the internet, so they’re unable to provide as much exposure as the market leaders.
Don’t get me wrong, the websites on that list are more than capable of finding tenants. However, if a landlord is looking to pump more juice into their marketing campaign and significantly increase their marketing power, they may want to consider marketing their property onto websites like Rightmove, Property Finder, Primelocation, Hot Property, Globrix, Think Property etc. They’re the real powerhouse property portals; they receive more traffic on a daily basis than the amount of erections Hugh Hefner will generate in a life time.
Websites that allows landlords to market their BTL property onto the most popular UK property portals:
| Website | Price | Period | Property marketed on | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Make ur move | FREE (no joke) | Until tenants successfully found | Rightmove, Findaproperty, Prime Location, Globrix, Zoopla, Propertyfinder, Hot property, Think property, Yahoo, MSN, Tiscali, UpMyStreet, Virgin, The Guardian | It actually is FREE, which is pretty amazing since every other company I know asks for a fee. Not only can you advertise on the websites I mentioned, but you also get the following benefits for free (no catch): - They arrange viewings - They negotiate offers - They provide a FREE Comprehensive Tenant Reference Check |
| Letting A Property | £49 (PLUS VAT). If your advert attract less than 2 tenant enquiries through lettingaproperty.com in your first month of advertising, they will give you a second month absolutely free of charge. | One month | Rightmove, Propertyfinder, Zoopla, Globrix, Hotproperty, Google base, Facebook, Yahoo, MSN, UpMyStreet, Net house prices, UK Property Search, SKY, UK Property Shop, Virgin, House Ladder, Trovit |
Private landlords benefit from: - Our Personal Let Guarantee* - Free Tenant Referencing - Pre-qualified tenants - A dedicated property consultant - No spam or unwanted sales calls |
| Let Match | £25 – £32 (PLUS VAT) | 4 – 8 weeks. It costs £25 for 4 weeks, or £32 plus VAT for 8 weeks | Rightmove | I’ve actually successfully used Let Match before, My Experience With Letmatch To Advertise A BTL On Rightmove. |
| Gerard Nicholas | £39 | Until tenants successfully found | Rigtmove, Globrix | |
| Relish Residential | £45 | It’s not clear, I think they market the property until it’s been successfully let | Property Finder, Hot Property, and Think Property | |
| Your Place Marketing | £35 | It’s not clear, I think they market the property until it’s been successfully let | Rightmove, Property Finder | |
| The Home Place | £20 | Per month | Rightmove | |
| Virtual Letz | £49 | Until tenants successfully found | Rightmove, Property Finder and Globrix | |
| Upad | £59 | Until tenants successfully found | Over 100 portals, but the most significant and powerful portals being (in my opinion) Rightmove, Fish4homes, Findaproperty, Propertyfinder, Primelocation, Nestoria, Globrix | |
| Discount Letting | £59 (PLUS VAT) | £59 is for one month, £35 (+VAT) should you need to renew for a following month | Rightmove, FindaProperty, Primelocation, Propertyfinder, Fish4homes, Globrix, Zoomf, Yahoo, Sky and many more | |
| Rented Online | £49 | £49 for up to 6 weeks. If for any reason the property is not let within 6 weeks you can renew for half the original price. | Rightmove, Globrix |
Note
The portals I mentioned don’t deal with private landlords directly, they only deal with letting agents, so you can’t just go direct to the portals looking to market your vacant property. That’s why you need to use the “online letting agents” I mentioned above as a gateway to upload your property details onto the portals.
Most high street agents use websites like Rightmove and Findaproperty to market their properties, and a large portion of the times, that’s where they get their leads from. The only difference is, high street agents take the viewings and charge a shitload more.
Please be assured that I can’t guarantee that any of these websites work or will successfully find you tenants. All I can say is that I used Letmatch, and it worked for me. I didn’t use Let Match because I thought they offered the best deal or service, I used them because it’s the only site I knew about at the time which offered this kind of service.
Did I miss any websites out?
If you know of any websites I missed out, please let me know, and I’ll happily provide a link.

I've received a few emails from others, informing me of websites that offer similar services. I'll update the list periodically.
Thanks all!

I need to call on your services but I can't find anywhere on your website the £75.00 offer (you mentioned above) including the board?
And also there's no mention of Rightmove being one of the portals amongst the list.
..is there a chance of a discount should I wish list two of my properties with you today? ....thought I'd ask ;-)
BTW Landlord, Smart Landlord do not offer any of those services you've listed anymore. And their website is currently under construction.

Gin

Missed Rented Online £49 for up to 6 weeks (thats all it should take really) on Rightmove and Globrix. They have an 0800 for landlords and tenants which is better. Personal service and not a call centre.
If for any reason the property is not let within 6 weeks you can renew for half the original price but I have never had to do this.

You missed www.makeurmove.co.uk which advertises on all the major property portals for free and includes free tenant referencing.
Thanks

They do the Rightmove and other portal advertising for £49 for 2 months
But I use them for their Full Letting Package which includes the Rightmove and portal advertising but also sets up the whole new tenancy for landlords for £95 including the portal advertising for 3 months.
Great service for landlords takes all the worries away

You probably use LANDLORD DIRECT because you work for LANDLORD DIRECT :)

I initially started this website because I wanted to document my every step from property idiot to property landlord,
in hope that people would find my site and help me along the way. I literally didn't have a clue about being a landlord
when I started this website.
