UK National House Price StatisticsCategory: House prices |
Some of you may have noticed the new statistics table in the financials section. It’s basically an overview of the current state of the market for the current month and the previous year, according to various reliable sources. Sources that are well established in the property industry. If the majority of sources imply that house prices have gone up this month, I think it’s safe to assume that it’s a pretty factual statement.
For the uber geeks that want to see all the data, facts and whatever else, I’ve attached links to the source of the websites where you can find the official PDF releases.
I’m always interested in how the property market is doing, and with this new feature I can get to see it in a quick glance. I hope you all find it useful. The table will be updated on a regular basis, so you will all be kept in the loop.

Source website: The name of the source, and their official website.
Period covered: the period in which the data represents. For example, the data for Rightmove was gathered on May 07.
Average house price: The average house price in the UK according to the particular source.
Monthly change: The increase/decrease of house prices since the previous month.
Annual change: The increase/decrease of house prices since the previous year.
If this image appears next to the source, it means the figures have recently been updated.

Ummm… don’t really understand figures and graphs and shit… I just don’t geddit, y’know? But there are sssoooooo many things I don’t get in this world, m’dear, that I wouldn’t rely on my own opinion, to be honest. Looks flashy, tho’! I like it.
God damnit, Tany!
The statistics table is meant to be simple, so any ol’ fool can understand it.
You’ve really thrown a spanner in the works. Back to the drawing board
Kid! hey… well… first of all, can I say that I’m very disappointed you didn’t acknowledge (or haven’t acknowledged) my direct appeal to you recently, because, whether you believe it or not, I’ll be needing your help soon, with a website. But anyway… my dear boy… haven’t you realised yet that I’m hopeless with numbers? *And* with figures. Maps are another nightmare… my friends & family are surprised I’ve made it this far in life!
But I love your blog. Read it every day.
Pretty graphs work for me - ones that actually show the trend over time… this doesn’t. Sorry.
Hey Lee,
I only started collecting this data from the 19th of June; I don’t have enough data to show the information in pretty graphs yet. Sorry
[...] HEAVEN FORBID!!! I learnt that from a guy named Lee who left a comment in my previous blog entry (UK national House Price Statistics). He didn’t like the fact that I didn’t display my stats for the ‘UK national [...]
The average house prices from each source is wildly different. Ranges from £181k to £237k! I don’t think we can say that the above are facts! Now if all the sources agreed on one price then we can say its a fact!
