I’m sure a lot of you are already familar with this story, but I was recently reminded about it, and decided to write a little something about it- just to inform the uninformed and refresh the informed. I’m generous like that.
The story is old, and was (and still is) extremely viral when people were first starting to find out about it. This guy in America set off on a project (similar to my project), his aim was to trade a red paperclip for a house. Like I said, it’s like my project, only i’m trading money for a house.
This guy didn’t expect to do this in one, direct trade; he was attempting to gradually work his way up- trade after trade after trade. Eventually it ONLY took him 14 trades. How cool is that?
Anyways, he’s pretty well established now, since the story was pretty huge. I hate to direct traffic away from my site, but this guy deserves it. You can read all about his amazing project on his blog: oneredpaperclip.blogspot.com
Unfortunately, his project is a little cooler than mine, because he documents all his trades with video footage, and plus…well, he ultimately bought a house with a paperclip. Ahh well, whatever. I’m not bitter ![]()
